This gorilla has a lot to teach humans
At the Brookfield Zoo, a 3 year old boy accidentally fell into a female gorilla’s den on Aug. 16, 1996. The gorilla, named Binti Jua, protected him till the time the zookeepers didn’t come to save him.
While the helpless viewers were screaming, thinking that she would harm the kid; the gorilla did the exact opposite- she walked up to the kid to pick him up, started embracing him, and took him safely 60 ft towards an entrance so that the zookeepers could securely take him back from her.
Now, a thing to ponder over. What she did was true empathy. The same gorilla was locked up by humans but was still humane and sharp enough to know that a human’s kid required security. Why can’t the humans exhibit the similar empathy to her?
