Have you ever sat and wondered what would happen if the United States was nuked? With so many indications that we could be in the beginning stages of WWIII, many of us are asking this very question, and in the following paragraphs we will attempt to answer it to the best of our ability.

Which Areas Would Be Targeted, And How Far Would The Fallout Extend?

Of course, the answer to this question can only be made based on speculation, but there is quite a bit of logic to be considered as well. If any nation was to nuke the U.S they would have to disable their nukes as well, so areas, where nukes are stored, would be hit first. So, North Dakota would probably be at the top of the list.

Next on the list, would be areas that would make for optimal destruction, such as nuclear power plants. Also, we would have to surmise that locations of major government facilities would make the top of the list as well.

There are other things to be considered as well. Let us step back a moment, and think about targets that the U.S would consider. Looking back at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it appears that numerous military personnel, politicians, and historians now claim that the U.S dropped the first bomb to prove they could, and the second was to show Stalin just how strong they truly were. Needless to say, these examples aren’t of much use.

However, there is a detailed list of targets that the U.S created in 1956 to prepare for the chance of war with the Soviet Union. The list includes major cities for “systematic destruction” that contain “Agricultural Equipment” and “Transformers, Heavy”. The most horrific though was a target simply titled “Population.”

You read that right…..”Population.” Areas laden with innocent civilians that have done nothing to anyone are the areas that are considered to be a major target. If the United States would consider this a target area, then we can safely assume other nations would think the same.

If you look below, you will see two FEMA maps, the first from 1990, and depicts the targets that are considered areas that the Soviets would hit in the event of a nuclear attack on the U.S. According to the University of Notre Dame, fallout is described as the mixture of earth and or water that has entered the fireball caused by the detonation of a nuclear bomb near the Earth’s surface. The mixture with radioactive debris of the explosion during an early stage is then blown up into the troposphere and lower stratosphere, creating fallout. The most lethal fallout is indicated by the darkest colored areas and the lesser lethal fallout is depicted with yellow.

After being blown into the troposphere and lower stratosphere, “the material is then re-distributed over polar (3-12 months) or equatorial regions (8-24 months). Fall-out removal times (defined in terms of half-life) ranges from 10 to 24 months depending upon seasonal conditions, most rapid during spring, slow in summer,” again, this is according to the University of Notre Dame, (source above).

Where Would Government Officials and the “Elite” Go in the Event of a Nuclear Attack?

According to Public Intelligence (a research project that archives government documents and public information) , that in cases of a national emergency, the “highest level civilian and military officials,” are sent to Mount Weather in Virginia, which coincidentally (or is it) is also the location of FEMA’s National Emergency Coordinating Center. Under the “Continuity of Government,” and the “Continuity of Operations Plan” (COOP), these individuals are kept in one of two underground locations at the facility to basically wait out the catastrophe and take over, should the government be annihilated.

According to the Federation of American Scientists, first founded the Manhattan Project to develop the atomic bombs, the President, the Cabinet, and Supreme Court are provided private sleeping quarters at the facility.

How Likely is A Nuclear Attack in the U.S?

There was a time when North Korea was considered to be the biggest threat for a nuclear attack against the U.S, however, various mainstream news sources downplayed the likelihood of any real threat. Many claim that the media is foolishly downplaying the threat. In recent months, though, with elections taking place, and various military actions between the U.S and Russia, it would appear that Russia would be the newest threat.

While the media is completely saturated with reports of this particular threat, you can hear for yourself in this video:

To summarize, Putin points out the U.S’s massive debt and failing economy, as well as tainted relations with Middle-Eastern allies. He goes on further pointing out how American presidential candidates are skirting the real issues taking place in the country, and creating new problems or distractions that keep the population blind from real issues.

According to Putin, Russia has been targeted in this way before, and while U.S officials spread anti-Russian fear mongering within the states, they whisper in Putin’s ear, “Just wait this out, it will pass!” In Putin’s own words:

“IT IS MY HOPE THAT AFTER THESE DEBATES ARE OVER, AFTER THIS CHALLENGING PERIOD IN INTERNAL US POLITICS, THERE WILL BE AN OPPORTUNITY TO RESTORE RUSSIAN-AMERICAN RELATIONS.” HE LATER CONTINUES, “I’D LIKE TO CALM EVERYONE DOWN – OUR AMERICAN PARTNERS AND FRIENDS. WE HAVE NO INTENTION OF INFLUENCING THE TURN OF EVENTS IN THE ELECTION OF THE US.”

You will have to discern for yourself on who to believe, whether it is Russia’s president or the corrupt mainstream media. Of course, Putin could be lying. Keep in mind that the U.S media lies on a continual basis. Either way, there is no way to really know the truth other than the passage of time. It can be understood that for now, the chances of a nuclear attack by Russia are not high. It is good to be informed, however, so we will leave you with this video, “What Would Happen if Humans Disappeared?”
