Acharya Balkrishnaoga, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Yoga guru Ramdev-run Patanjali, has claimed that the company has found an Ayurvedic medicine that can help cure the novel coronavirus infection. According to Balkrishna, an Ayurvedic medicine developed by the firm has been able to cure COVID-19 patients within 5-14 days.

Ramdev told India TV that COVID-19 patients who were administered Patanjali medicine ‘Coronil’ showed 100 per cent recovery rate. According to the yoga guru, coronil is made from a mixture of Ashwagandha, Giloy and Tulsi and can be taken twice daily - morning and evening.
“We appointed a team of scientists after the Covid-19 outbreak. First, the simulation was done and compounds were identified which can fight the virus and stop its spread in the body. Then, we conducted a clinical case study on hundreds of positive patients and we have got 100 per cent favourable results. We are not talking about an immunity booster. We are talking about a cure,” Balkrishna said.
The report added that clinical trials were conducted in Indore and in Jaipur after Patanjali secured the regulator’s approval last week.
He said COVID-19 patients who were given the Ayurvedic medicine recovered in 5-14 days and they also tested negative for the virus.
“So, we can say the cure for COVID is possible through Ayurveda. We are performing controlled clinical trials only. In the next few days, evidence and data will be released by us,” he said.
Balkrishna also recommended that people should practice Yoga, and keep oneself healthy through proper diet to boost the immune system.
