You’ll Never Eat McDonald’s Again After You Read These Horrifying Facts

Feeling hungry? You may want to read the rest of this article before you head to your favorite fast food restaurant and order your usual chemical and prescription drug-ridden meal. Did you know you’re likely eating crushed beetles and or duck feathers with your fast food burger? Here are some of the most disgusting additives you’re eating when you hit the drive-thru:

Duck Feathers: One of the more-enduring urban legends about McDonald’s is that their hamburgers contain cow eyeballs. While this has not proven to be the case, the company’s Baked Hot Apple Pie does contain duck feathers, or at least an ingredient commonly derived from such. Truth can be just as strange as fiction.

Silly Putty plastic: Dimethylpolysiloxane is a form of silicone used in the stretchy toy, but it also keeps fryer oil from foaming and as such, you’ll find it in McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish and fries … or almost anything deep-fried in a fast food restaurant.

Wood (cellulose). Processed wood pulp, known as cellulose, is used in everything. Food processors use it to thicken and stabilize foods, replace fat and boost fiber content
Petroleum-derived preservatives (TBHQ). Tertiary butylhydroquinone (TBHQ) is made from compounds derived from petroleum and finds a home in processed food. McDonald’s, for example, uses it in 18 products ranging from its Fruit and Walnut Salad to Griddle Cakes to McNuggets.
Soil fertilizer (ammonium sulfate)
Ammonium sulfate is sold by chemical companies to food manufacturers as “yeast food for bread,” and many fast-food companies list the ingredient in their bakery products.

Prescription Drugs
By testing feathers, researchers from Johns Hopkins University found some very interesting characteristics of factory-farm-raised poultry. And you thought the pink slime scandal was bad? Anti-depressants as well as other prescription drugs are added to chicken feed for fast food “poultry” items. That’s right, those McChicken sandwiches and McNuggets come from chickens that were raised on a steady diet of prescription, over-the-counter, and even banned drugs. 40 years ago, only around $6 billion was spent on fast food. Today that number is more like $200 billion. Not only is the fast food industry serving us disgusting food, they are making tons of money doing it.
