If you’re somebody who’s prone to dropping your smartphone, then the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus may not be the ideal model for you. Here’s why:
The 2017 iPhone’s have returned to using glass material on the front and rear of the device, and cracking the glass on the back will not be covered under AppleCare+ $29 screen replacement plan.
Fixing the back glass is now subject to the $99 ‘other damage’ fee plus tax, an AppleInsider report said.
With AppleCare+, the company provides iPhone users with two screen replacements and two ‘other’ damage incidents at $29 and $99 respectively. Beyond that, repairs cost $349 for the iPhone 8 and $399 for the iPhone 8 Plus.
AppleCare+ costs $129 for the iPhone 8 and $149 for the iPhone 8 Plus models.
