Known as the “Devil’s Triangle“, the Bermuda Triangle consists of a region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean and is defined by points in Bermuda, Florida, and Puerto Rico. This mysterious imaginary boundary stretches across less than a thousand miles on any one side.
The triangle does not exist according to the US Navy and the name is not recognized by the US Board on Geographic Names.
But what causes airplanes and ships to disappear without a trace? Why do aeronautical equipment and navigational equipment malfunction? What can cause a compass to spin and give false readings? What makes the radio go silent and makes it impossible to communicate? Until today no logical explanation has been given to the events to this (in)famous location– The Bermuda Triangle.
This enigmatic area on the planet is also mysteriously aligned to other ‘hotspots’ and points of interest around the globe. The ‘Bermuda Triangle’ sits on the 27th parallel north and forms a line with the Pyramids of Giza and the Himalayas.
Christopher Columbus was one of the first people to witness the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle. Being such an esoteric navigator and a well-respected sailor, his log sailing to the New World is very accurate and precise.
What is very interesting is the fact that when Columbus got into the area known as the Bermuda Triangle, he recorded having compass malfunctions, he saw a fireball crash into the ocean.
As you can see, for centuries, this enigmatic area has been one of the biggest mysteries on our planet, striking fear into anyone who dares to travel across it. But now, the reason as to why this enigmatic body of water has claimed so many ships and aircraft could have finally been uncovered. According to reports, scientists are one step closer to finally solving a century-long mystery after finding a series of craters off the coast of Norway which they believe, can explain the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle.
Scientists believe that the 150 deep crater found in the Barents Sea were created by methane building up and bursting under the seabed. After the discovery near Norway, scientists speculate that the exact same phenomenon could be responsible for the anomalous disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle.
Multiple giant craters exist on the sea floor in an area in the west-central Barents Sea and are probably a cause of enormous blowouts of gas. The crater area is likely to represent one of the largest hotspots for shallow marine methane release in the Arctic.
While scientists have speculated for years that similar natural phenomenon could be behind the mysteries of the Bermuda Triangle, this new piece of evidence present in another area could mean researchers are a step closer to uncovering what causes the anomalous phenomenon between Florida, Bermuda, and Puerto Rico.
The next step towards proving their theory is to check whether the bursting of these bubbles is big and strong enough to sink ships.
Previous studies speculated that the mystery behind the Bermuda Triangle could be located in space.
Satellite measurements were able to show that the Van Allen belt ie, the inner radiation belt of the earth which is a layer of energetic charged particles, is located closer to the surface of our planet precisely over the region of the Bermuda Triangle. Scientists speculate that the variation of the Van Allen belt and its proximity to this area could lead to the numerous mysteries that have been connected to the area: the disappearance of ships and airplanes and mysterious weather phenomena.
