After rumors circulated that a cat-creature with a human-like face was found in Malaysia, authorities and police have came out and denounced the creature as a “hoax” (scroll down for video).

The cat beast or “werewolf cub” as others have described it was alleged to have been found in Pahang province of Western Malaysia.

About the size of an adult human’s hand, the tiny animal appears to have a cat’s body, human face, mostly hairless except for thin strands on its scalp, with sharp claws and fangs:

Images of the creature sparked huge interest online, with many people sharing the photos trying to figure out what it could be:

After images and footage of the unidentified animal went viral, state police were quick to quash the claims and interestingly seemed keen to bury public interest in the video, even saying they hoped people will stop “circulating” the news.

Police chief Datuk Rosli Abdul Rahman said that the photographs of the animal were “untrue” and that no sighting of the creature was reported to them.

Rahman added:
“Checks revealed the images were downloaded from the internet before it was shared on social media, claiming that the discovery was made in Pahang.

“I hope the public will stop circulating news about the alleged discovery.”

Daily Mail reported:
“State police added that there had been no recorded discovery or sightings of the four-legged discovery.

“Earlier posts said the weird animal was being held in a laboratory at an unknown location.

“However it is believed that the mystery creature is a ‘silicon baby werewolf’ that is sold online.”

Reports now suggest that the animal was just a “silicone baby werewolf toy” that was sold on the internet.
