A 16-year-old girl has been charged with the death of her newly born daughter after she allegedly threw her out of a window, seconds after she was born. These are the details you need to know:
It happened on a Friday morning. The second after she did it she went on Facebook to ask for help Antonia Lopez was charged as an adult the next morning with felony child abuse resulting in death, according to the Omaha Police Department.
This wasn’t the first time Antonia had some sort of encounter with the police, as she has been reported missing nine times by her family, between August and November 2015, and was also convicted of theft last year.
Investigators said Antonia told her mother she threw the infant out of the second-story window a few moments after she went into labor and gave birth in their apartment.

The mother apparently went outside and saw the baby in the grass and began performing CPR, right after calling 911.

An emergency crew arrived at 4:12 am and the baby was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Unfortunately, she didn’t make it to the hospital alive and was pronounced dead on the way.

However, before the ambulance arrived, Antonia had posted publicly on Facebook that she needed a ride. The post was made at 3:40 am.

A user responded an hour later, ‘What’s up… I have a ride,’ but by then the baby had already been declared dead.

‘She killed her baby,’ someone else replied. By Monday afternoon, Antonia’s post had drawn over 400 comments.

Antonia was taken to the hospital for evaluation and booked into the Douglas County Youth Center on the felony charges on Saturday morning.
