The ocean temperatures have steadily been increasing, this has given way to natural disasters like whales beaching themselves due to starvation, mother seals abandoning their offspring because they are starving, and corals bleaching due to rising water temperatures.
The biggest disaster to come of this is rising sea levels. This has caused some island nations to think about the future and buy land elsewhere to relocate their population.
It is estimated that the ocean levels would rise by at least a meter by the end of this century. If all of the ice were to melt, the oceans would rise by almost 220 ft. How can we reverse these changes, we may not be able to, but simply raising our awareness will certainly bring about creative solutions.
