This gentleman, named Dashrath Manjhi, worked day and night for 22 years… to cut down a mountain- Alone!

You might be thinking why?

It’s because he wanted to make sure that no one else in his village should die like his wife did- Lack of medical care. She died because she didn’t get medical care of time when she was severely ill. Because they had to go all around this mountain for any assistance from the city and it was a long path.

Dashrath Manjh was very distressed after the loss of her wife and took a vow that thereon no one should suffer like her wife, and that he will make it possible.
When he started to cut the mountain, bit-by-bit, everyone in the village thought that he have gone mad due to the loss of her beloved wife.

But he never gave up, and worked for 22 years to do the change and at the end he was successful to cut down that entire mountain. Be it his madness or love or passion but it was very strong, his love was actually strong enough to move the mountain and shook the entire world.

Cutting the mountain has reduced the distance considerably- just 1 Km. from 70 kms- from his village to the nearest hospital! Salute to his courage and will power!
