8 Signs That You Are Not Drinking Enough Water

In order to survive we all need water. Without water no one can live. Water also helps you keeps the inner workings of your body in top shape. However you should know that water keeps you hydrated only in its pure form.

You should also know that drinking enough water will keep your body healthy, because the water helps in adjusting your body’s temperature and that way it improves the digestion. The water also helps in removing all the toxins from your body and makes the necessary body fluids.

However one of the most important properties of the water is that the water is an excellent reactant. This means that many chemical reactions that support live take place in a water medium.

  1. Frequency of urination

A healthy person urinates approximately 6 to 7 times a day. This number is different in every person, because not everyone drinks the same amount of water.
For those who urinate less than 2-3 times a day or have not urinated in several hours, you need to start consuming more water. This way your body tells you that you are not consuming enough water. By not consuming enough water, you may cause many difficulties for your kidneys. This means that your kidneys will not be able to filter out all the impurities from your body.
Therefore if you want your body to function properly, you need to drink the right amount of water per day.

  1. Dry Skin

In order to be shiny and smooth, your skin needs water. And to stay healthy your skin must be hydrated all the time. This way your skin will not be dry and will be soft to touch.

If you have dry skin that means that you are dehydrated and your skin lacks water. Another sign that your body lacks water is when your skin is dry even after applying lotions or balms on it in order to keep it wet. Therefore if you want your body to stay hydrated you need to drink few glasses of water every hour. This way your skin will be healthy and amazingly soft and smooth.

  1. Headaches

Maybe you did not know this but many headaches occur due to dehydration. Headache due to dehydration is slightly different from normal headaches. You can differ it from normal headache, because this type of headache gets worst with any movement.

This means that when you try to bend down to pickup something, move fast or move up and down the stairs, the pain gets worst. If you are suffering from this type of headache, it means that your body lacks water. Usually this type of headache occurs when you have not drank enough fluids or you have sweated a lot.

Therefore when you feel this type of headache you need to drink some fluids immediately. However you should remember to take the fluids slowly and easy.

  1. Dry Mouth

Decrease of the saliva build up in the mouth causes you to have dry mouth. If you are constantly having dry mouth, your throat and mouth can be permanently damaged.

Dry mouth is often caused by the lack of water in your body. However, high intake of medicines, may also cause less production of saliva in your mouth. That is why if you are constantly having dry mouth, you should always carry a bottle of water with you.

  1. Color of the urine

The change in the color of your urine can be a major sign of dehydration. The color of your urine will be clear if you are well hydrated. However if you are dehydrated, the color of your urine will change significantly.

You need to immediately start consuming larger amounts of water, if the color of your urine keeps getting darker. See the picture bellow. You can notice that there are different colors of urine and every one of them indicates how well you are hydrated. As you can see if your urine is brown, that means that you are dehydrated.

However you should not drink larger amounts of water in a small period of time, because you will get sick. You need to drink the water slowly in order for your body to gradually replenish the water in the required organs.

Have you ever felt hungry even though you have just eaten? You have probably though that your body is simply craving for snacks. But that is not the case. When this situation happens to you, you should know that your body is dehydrated.

You are feeling hunger because often your body can mistake the thirst for hunger. Therefore next time you feel hungry after you have just eaten, try drinking water instead of eating snacks. The water will satisfy your hunger, because it was not hunger after all, it was your body asking for water.

  1. Dizziness

Sometimes when you feel lightness in your head, you do not need to panic, because this probably means that your body loses too much fluids and it lacks water. Despite the dehydration, you should know that the fluid build-up in your inner ear can cause the dizziness.

That is why when you feel dizzy all you have to do is drink a glass of water. You should also know that this condition is very common among athletes who stay in the sun for long.
