Zinc-cadmium-sulfide with radioactive particles was sprayed on 10,000+ low income people with high concentration of children by the US government during the Cold War. Well, the radioactive particle part is still classified, but that’s what Professor Martino-Taylor thinks. Either way it is equally absurd and horrible. Professor Lisa Martino-Taylor has a trove of documents obtained via FOIA requests which include photographs of the sprayers. Allegedly this was to test long term health effects, but the government never even followed up on their own studies! Unfortunately it seems this type of behavior is standard which is why we need to press for further declassification across the spectrum.
‘This was a violation of all medical ethics, all international codes, and the military’s own policy at that time,’ says Martino-Taylor.
