Kentucky police are hunting a man who buglarized a funeral home and took off with a dead man’s clothes.
Leitchfield Police released video showing the theft happening around 8.30pm on Wednesday at the Watson and Hunt Funeral Home.
‘He did a pretty morbid thing as far as I’m concerned and doesn’t show much respect,’ said Detective Kevin Smith with the Leitchfield Police Department to WDRB.
According to officials, the man was inside the funeral home for several hours.
He was said to have stolen a suit that was going to be used for a dead man’s memorial service. The suspect even went as far as to wear the clothes inside the building.
According to police, the suspect also took electronics and a set of hearse keys from the home. He even takes a nap in the office chair of the funeral home owner.
The suspect has a tattoo on his upper left arm that is large.
But authorities are hopeful he’ll do the right thing.
‘You can redeem yourself. Man up, come forward and let us work with you and we’ll do what we can to help you out,’ Det. Smith said.
